The form: Lúc + clause 1 + (Là) lúc + clause 2

This phrase means “when, at that moment, at that time” that is used to express two things or situations happening at the same time.

Eg.

Lúc tôi đến trường là lúc trời đang mưa to.

(At the time when I was going to school, it was raining heavily.)

Lúc tôi gặp Nam cũng là lúc anh ấy đang chuẩn bị rời sân bay.

(When I met Nam, he was going to leave the airport.)

This verb indicates the return to the starting point from the target place, or return to the place one loves:

về quê (return to one’s native village)

về nhà (return to one’s house)

về nước (return to one’s native country)

Eg.

Anh ta vừa mới về nước sau một chuyến đi đến Paris.

He has returned to his native country after a journey to Paris.
